Janet Taylor Visits Mrs. Pressley's Class

Janet Taylor made a visit to Graham to see the progress Mrs. Pressley's class is making on their PowerPoint projects. The students collaborated with a partner to create a fable. Now, they are working together in the computer lab to create a presentation of their fable, using PowerPoint. Ms. Taylor enjoyed working with the students. The students enjoyed meeting Mrs. Pressley's teacher!!

Fifth Graders are Great Teachers!!

Mrs. Pressley's fifth grade class shared their knowledge of creating a PowerPoint slide show with Mrs. Lawson's class. The third graders were sharp, they all were able to create and view their slide show with just one lesson. We can't wait to go back to the computer lab. Thanks Mrs. Lumpkin, Mrs. Burk, Mrs. Curry and Mrs. Dyer for all of your support.

Mrs. Graves' Science Class Performs Severe Weather Plays

Graham protects 30 acres of rainforest!

Graham will receive National Recognition again this year for the number of rainforest t-shirts sold- over 300! Thanks for all of the hard work to those that sold, especially Mrs. Hendrix's class; they sold 39 shirts. Mrs. Pressley's class came in 2nd place with at total of 20 t-shirts sold. Great job!

PTO Music Program

Coach Sewell and his wife, Rebecca, joined Graham's faculty for a baby shower in their honor. We enjoyed refreshments and watching them open their gifts!!

"Horton Hears a Who"

Graham students in Grades K-3 are shown leaving school to attend the opening day of Horton Hears A Who at the movie theater in Oxford. A great time was had by all!!

Read Across America Day

Classroom winners were given a party for earning the most AR points on Dr. Seuss Read Across America Day. The winning classrooms were Mrs. Edmiston, Mrs. Roberson, and Mrs. Fannin. Congrautlations to these rooms!!

Creating PowerPoints

Mrs. Pressley's class is learning to make PowerPoint presentations. Thanks to the help of Mrs. Burk, Mrs. Curry & Mrs. Lumpkin they have been able to practice making slides in the computer lab. Eventually they will write fables, then make a slide show to present to their class.

Rainforest T-shirt orders are due April 10th.

Mayor York visits 3rd Grade

Mayor Brian York visited with Mrs. Davis', Mrs. Armbrester's, and Mrs. Lawson's third grade classes. Mayor York explained his duties as mayor and the students were able to ask him questions. The third graders are learning about local government in social studies this year.

Graham 6th Graders Set Goals Through Life Skills Program

This year, Mrs. Fran Storey of the First Family Service Center has been teaching the students in the 6th grade at Graham School a variety of valuable life skills. Students have learned about goal setting, influence of advertising on young people, the dangers of smoking, and drug & alcohol abuse. The course has been very thought provoking and has allowed the boys and girls to explore many myths and realities they will soon face as teenagers.
