4th Graders at Graham Elementary watched and listened to a webcast presented by Scholastic that was only available to schools. Scholastic is celebrating their 90th anniversary this year and continues to promote literacy. The webcast was hosted by Nick Cannon and questions were presented to Taylor Swift. Taylor talked about how reading has influenced her life and her writing. The 4th graders loved it and instantly wanted to pick up their AR books and read, read, read!!! What a motivating idea!!!

According to a National Middle School Association study conducted in 2007 regarding technology and student learning, " it is more important to use technology for learning than it is to learn how to use the technology." Above 4th graders are using technology to learn by researching Angel Island and Ellis Island in order to be able to compare and contrast the two using a Venn Diagram. Great work, Ms. Pinson's reading group!
